Economics and the human instinct for storytelling

"Why do economists miss the stories behind many of our economic fluctuations? One reason is that economists have a toolkit, and the narrative hasn’t traditionally been in it. We view narrative as somebody else’s territory. We do simultaneous equations. We teach general equilibrium theory. That’s fine, but by the time we finish teaching those, we’re tired."

The final eleven

Brigadoon Sundance 2018 Sales End.png

The dates for Brigadoon Sundance 2018 are February 25 -27.

The event is more retreat and less conference.

Think of it as a mountain weekend where participants will be exposed to new ideas, discuss global issues, talk about enterprise, play in the snow, and ultimately leave the gathering smarter.

Brigadoon is an opt-in event. Attendees are individuals who possess significant expertise on issues that touch all parts of our daily lives, but in areas, we may know little about because of our expertise.

Brigadoon engages its participants with several hands-on meetings, meals designed to expand your network, outdoor sports, whiteboard sessions, and creative activities.

There will be plenty of time for two-way conversations and individual reflection, which we all know is valuable.

The gathering will have an intimate feel with just 50 attendees. Venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, journalists, communicators, designers, producers, doctors, lobbyists, thought-leaders, and athletes will comprise the guest list.

Ticket sales end on January 25, 2018.

What are we talking about?
